Quel jour!
Hello all! Its now the lazy and boring (for those of us with no jobs) time between Christmas and New Years. We get to play with all our new toys (I got the sweet digital camera I wanted) and hang out with friends and family. Things have been fun but sometimes a little painful for me as well.First off is the second annual Mario party. For those of you who are uninformed, Mario Party is an awesome video game that is set up like a board game on your TV. Last year, me, Becky, Erin and Eric all met up several nights to hang out and have epic Mario Party battles. Eric always wins, I often bring up the rear, but we always have a blast. We experiment with popcorn and sometimes our combinations are awesome (nacho cheese, spicy cheese popcorn flavoring, butter and macaroni and cheese powdered cheese) or disgusting (kettle corn, white cheddar, butter, Mac&cheese powder and chili powder). It is becoming our tradition, and is so awesome to get to spend time with Eric before he goes back to LA. Here is us at the end of game night.

Also, I had a great day skiing with my Dad. We went over to Snowy Range for a day. I had been out until 3am the night before, and had to drag myself out of bed at 7am. That was waaay too early for me, but I was greatly looking forward to it. We skiied all types of blue runs, a couple blacks and had a great time. Both of us crashed a couple times. Dad hooked one of his skis on mine as we were getting off the chair lift and took a mighty good fall. I stood on the side and laughed. On the hill, Dad and I almost skiied into each other and I over-corrected and took a wicked fall right under the chair lift. I could hear my Dad laughing at me from a good distance, and he reminded me several times of all the people who saw me crash. I was beyond exhausted that night from skiing all day on less than four hours of sleep, but still found time to hang out with my friends before going to bed that night. Becky said I looked so tired she had to make me come home. Here is me and my Daddy at the top of the mountain.

The wildest story though, is what happened last night. While hanging out at Steven's house, he decided to get out the infamous blowgun. We had a large group of people just sitting around and watching TV, and the guys started messing with the blowgun. They were shooting walls and stuff, but promised they wouldn't shoot anyone. I set my can of Dr. Pepper on the ground and Steven shot a dart completely through it, which was unsettling. I picked it up and pulled the dart out and was going to set the can back down when I saw Steven aiming at it. He shot the dart and I dropped my can in time to see the dart go completely THROUGH my thumb. As in, sticking in one side and out the other through the middle of my thumb like in a cartoon or something. Everyone just went totally quiet or gasped when I held my hand out and they could see it. Steven had the presence of mind to come pull the dart out since I was totally in shock. We ran to the bathroom, washed it off and put a bandage on. It was total chaos for awhile. My parents were gone, so I had to tell them about it this morning and they were REALLY not happy. My thumb was all swollen and gross so I had to go to the doctor and get a lovely tetanus shot and a bunch of antibiotics. The only good news about this is that Steven felt so bad that he threw away the blowgun. Crazy, crazy night. Here are a bunch of my friends at Steve's house, the night before:
